A luxury Nile cruise is the most immersive way to experience Upper Egypt — sailing between Luxor and Aswan over 4 or 5 nights while the greatest concentration of ancient monuments on earth drifts past your cabin window. Every vessel in our handpicked fleet is rated 5-star, includes full-board dining, and comes with a licensed Egyptologist guide on every shore excursion.
This is not a bus tour with a floating hotel attached. It is a curated journey where the itinerary unfolds at the pace of the river itself — Karnak Temple at dawn, Edfu by late morning, Kom Ombo at sunset, Aswan’s Philae Island by torchlight. For travellers who want Egypt done properly, a luxury Nile cruise is the non-negotiable centrepiece of any itinerary.
Our fleet ranges from intimate boutique ships (ideal for honeymooners or small groups) to larger 5-star vessels with pools, spas, and sun decks. Prices start from $490 per person and scale to $1,500+ for the most premium cabins. Every booking is private, fully customisable, and backed by 25 years of local expertise.

EXCELLENT Based on 151 reviews Posted on Tripadvisor Greg BVerified Our Egyptian sojourn Momo Passionate Egyptian man who has followed a boyhood wish to become an Egyptologist. Mo’s insight into the tours he leads are fascinating, passionate, insightful and leave you with no doubt that at the end of your journey you will have been immersed into the full Egyptian experience.Posted on Tripadvisor Lucy CVerified Egypt adventure with Momo Exploring Egypt on a small group tour with Momo was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. Having an Egyptologist as our guide completely transformed every temple, tomb, and monument from “ancient ruins” into living history. His knowledge was incredible, but what made the tour truly special was the way he brought thousands of years of Egyptian history to life with fascinating stories, humour, and insight. From the towering temples of Karnak and Abu Simbel to the breathtaking pyramids of Giza and the treasures of the Grand Egyptian Museum, every site felt more meaningful because of Momo’s explanations. He had a talent for pointing out details most tourists would easily miss — hidden symbols, stories behind the hieroglyphics, and the lives of the pharaohs who once ruled this extraordinary civilisation. Travelling in a small group made the whole experience relaxed, personal, and enjoyable. There was plenty of opportunity to ask questions, take photos, and really absorb the atmosphere without feeling rushed. Momo was organised, friendly, and genuinely passionate about sharing the wonders of Egypt with us. Cruising along the Nile, watching sunsets over ancient temples, and hearing the history of Egypt told by someone who truly loves his country made this journey unforgettable. If you want more than just sightseeing and are looking for a deeper, richer understanding of Egypt, I highly recommend a tour with Momo. It was an adventure filled with history, culture, laughter, and memories that will stay with us forever. We were more than travellers, we were family.Posted on Tripadvisor Vickie WVerified Our Egypt holiday This has been one of the most amazing holidays we have ever experienced, all thanks to Momo. As a passionate and highly knowledgeable Egyptologist, his understanding of Egypt’s history, culture, and landmarks is truly incredible. Every tour, story, and explanation brought the ancient world to life in such a fascinating and engaging way. Momo made sure that every single moment of our holiday was spectacular, informative, and filled with joy. His warmth, kindness, and sense of humour made us feel comfortable from the very beginning, and he went above and beyond to ensure everyone in the group had a wonderful experience. What made this trip even more special was the way Momo connected us as a group, encouraging us to support and look out for one another throughout the journey. By the end of the trip, we didn’t just feel like tourists — we felt like friends sharing an unforgettable adventure together. We are so grateful for the care, professionalism, and passion Momo brought to every day of our travels. If you are planning a trip to Egypt, we could not recommend him more highly. He truly made this holiday unforgettable.Posted on Tripadvisor Maria PVerified The sort of thing that simply doesn't happen. Except it did. You know how it goes, strangers thrown together on a boat, the Nile sliding past, and somewhere between the first dinner and the last sundowner, something rather extraordinary occurs. You become a tribe. Meanwhile, three thousand years of gods and pharaohs and scandalous queens drift by on the banks. One keeps pinching oneself. Surely not. Surely this is the dream one has before the alarm goes off. And yet... Thank you, Momo, keeper of secrets, reader of stones, and the finest guide the ancients never knew they will have.Posted on Tripadvisor Margaret GVerified Amazing informative and exciting This trip exceeded my expectations. Momo our guide was amazing so knowledgeable, funny and caring to everyone in our group. He made sure we had everything we needed to have the most memorable and amazing holiday. I could not be happier. Thank you MomoPosted on Tripadvisor Julie RVerified Incredible Experience! What an experience! Momo guided us through the historical sites of significance in Egypt with humour. We saw and learned so much. We highly recommend his services. What an incredible experience!Posted on Tripadvisor Μαρινα ΠVerified the feeling of safety and comfort with the persons who helped us in our trip to Egypt. The whole trip was tailored according to our wishes and it was executed perfectly. The NASCO tours in Alexandria and the NORSTAR co in Athens, were beyond our expectations. The hotels, the bus, the guides were excellent. Our cruise from Aswan to Luxor with the DAHABIYA STORIA 2026 was a dream!! It belongs to a luxury chain of cruises, the staff very polite and helpful, the chef was for a first class restaurant. our guide in Alex. was Mrs. Zahraa ADEL AWAD and in Cairo MR. Mostafa Gamal. Both very educated trying to make our trip perfect. I fully recommend the two tours agencies and the two guides who made our trip a dream.Posted on Tripadvisor Shelley WVerified Thank you MoMo We had a wonderful two week holiday in Egypt and our guide MoMo was fantastic. He made every tour to the sites very interesting and his sense of humour and genuine care bought our group of eight together on the first day. His enthusiasm and knowledge of Egyptian history is incredible. Thanks MoMo.Posted on Tripadvisor Roslyn FVerified Egypt with MoMo 10/10 If you want history, laughs, great photos, and a stress-free trip, ask for MoMo. I’ve just had two weeks in Egypt, it is simply incredible, however Egypt with MoMo is next level. As a qualified Egyptologist MoMo knows absolutely everything about Egypt, he has such a love of history combined with a passion for knowledge and I’m convinced if you asked him who moved a specific rock in the pyramid 4,000 years ago, he’d probably know that guy’s name and what he had for lunch. He made thousands of years of history actually fun. Instead of the usual “walk here, look at rock, move on” tour, we got stories, jokes, and just enough sarcasm to keep everyone on their toes - Family Attack! 😆 Also impressive: he has the supernatural ability to dodge crowds, find the best photo spots, and keep a group of confused Aussies (and one English) tourists moving in the right direction (which, honestly, deserves some kind of award). Yalla Yalla Family!! He kept us organised, safe, and always one step ahead of the crowds like some kind of pyramid-tour ninja. Our tour group connected like family becoming friends for life facilitated by MoMo, I am convinced that he is Ramses and also secretly built the pyramids himself however he is just too humble to admit it. 10/10 guide. Highly recommend. Egypt is incredible, but Egypt with MoMo is basically the VIP delux version.Posted on Tripadvisor Lo HolmesVerified Highly recommend I had an absolutely wonderful experience on this tour, and a huge part of that was thanks to Momo. His patience, fantastic sense of humour, and incredible knowledge made every day both enjoyable and informative. He really brought each place to life and created such a welcoming atmosphere for everyone. I was also lucky to be part of a fabulous group, and together it made the whole experience even more special. It’s been one of those trips filled with laughter, learning, and unforgettable memories that I know I’ll look back on for years to come. Thank you, Momo, for looking after us so well and making the trip so memorable. I couldn’t have asked for a better guide!

Just finished an incredible 12 day tour of Egypt, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Our guide, Momo, was absolutely outstanding. His knowledge of Egyptian history, culture, and archaeology was amazing, every temple, pyramid, and monument came alive through his storytelling. You could tell he truly loves his country and takes pride in sharing it with visitors. From the Pyramids of Giza to the temples of Luxor and Karnak, and cruising along the Nile, Momo made sure we understood the history, the symbolism, and even the small details most people would walk straight past. He answered every question with patience and enthusiasm. Beyond the history, Momo was also incredibly organised, friendly, and made the whole trip feel smooth and stress free. He looked after everyone in the group and made sure we had the best possible experience everywhere we went. If you’re planning a trip to Egypt, I highly recommend doing a tour with Momo. Available at Major Airports
Available to citizens of most Western countries at Cairo, Luxor, and Aswan airports. Cost is $25 USD, paid in cash. Valid for 30 days from the date of entry into Egypt.
Required
Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your intended departure date from Egypt. Always check the expiry date well before booking flights and accommodation.
30 or 60 days
A tourist visa grants 30 days in Egypt. Extensions are available through the Mogamma building in Cairo. Overstaying your visa results in fines payable at the airport on departure.
Oct– Nov
A perfect escape from a Canadian autumn chill. Manageable crowds, comfortable temperatures, and dramatic Nile sunsets. Ideal for first-time visitors.
Dec – Feb
Egypt’s peak season — and for good reason. Cool, clear days make temple visits genuinely comfortable. Book 3–4 months ahead; Christmas and New Year on the Nile sell out fast.
Mar – May
Shoulder season at its best. Fewer crowds than winter, lower prices, and warm evenings perfect for sundeck dining on the Nile. April can bring Khamsin dust winds .
Jun – Sep
Extreme heat across Upper Egypt — not recommended for Nile cruises or desert tours. Best reserved for Alexandria’s Mediterranean coast or the Red Sea.
Egypt’s official currency is the Egyptian Pound (EGP). ATMs are widely available in Cairo, Luxor, and Aswan. Always carry small notes for tipping your guide and driver, and for shopping in local souks and markets.
Egypt is a conservative country — pack lightweight, modest clothing that covers shoulders and knees for temple and mosque visits. A scarf is essential for women. Comfortable walking shoes are a must for uneven ancient sites.
Egypt’s sun is intense year-round, especially between April and October. Apply SPF 50 sunscreen daily, wear a wide-brim hat, and carry a refillable water bottle. Aim for at least two litres of water per day on excursion days.
Photography is permitted at most outdoor sites, but cameras are often banned inside tombs and some temples. Always ask your guide before shooting. Drone permits require advance approval and are rarely granted at archaeological sites.
No vaccinations are required for Egypt, but Hepatitis A and typhoid are recommended. Pack a basic medical kit including antihistamines and stomach remedies. Drink bottled water only — tap water is not safe for tourists to consume.
Egyptians are warm and welcoming, but cultural respect matters. Remove shoes before entering mosques, dress modestly at religious sites, and always ask permission before photographing local people. A small tip for service is always appreciated.

Luxury Nile cruises with My Way to Egypt include full-board meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), a licensed Egyptologist guide on every shore excursion, entrance fees to all temple sites, return airport or hotel transfers, and onboard amenities including a pool, sundeck, and spa on selected vessels. Everything is confirmed before departure — no surprise charges.
The classic route takes either 4 nights (northbound, Aswan to Luxor) or 5 nights (southbound, Luxor to Aswan). Both cover the same four temple stops — Karnak, Edfu, Kom Ombo, and Philae — at a relaxed pace. A 7-night extension including Abu Simbel is available on request.
All luxury Nile cruises in our fleet are rated 5-star, but the key differences lie in cabin size, passenger capacity, and guide quality. Luxury vessels carry fewer passengers (typically 60–100), offer larger staterooms with private balconies or panoramic windows, and include a dedicated Egyptologist guide for the full voyage rather than rotating excursion guides.
Yes. All My Way to Egypt cruises are private, meaning you travel with your own guide and group — not strangers from a shared booking. Solo travellers benefit from the same itinerary, the same guide, and the same level of service. A single supplement applies; contact us for current pricing.
Absolutely. Most travellers combine a 4 or 5-night Nile cruise with 2–3 days in Cairo (Pyramids of Giza, Egyptian Museum) and an optional extension to Abu Simbel or the White Desert. Our 14-day Egypt itinerary is the most popular combination — it covers Cairo, the Nile cruise, and Aswan in a single seamless trip.
The Historia Nile Cruise and the Sonesta St. George I are our top picks for couples — both offer larger cabin footprints, superior dining, and a quieter onboard atmosphere. Pair either vessel with our Egypt honeymoon package for added romance touches including private dinners and sunset felucca rides.
Standard 4 and 5-night Nile cruises do not include Abu Simbel as it sits 280km south of Aswan. However, we offer a same-day Abu Simbel excursion from Aswan by flight (50 minutes) or road (3.5 hours) that can be added to any cruise itinerary on your final day. We strongly recommend it.
Lightweight, modest clothing for temple visits (covered shoulders and knees), comfortable walking shoes with grip for uneven stone surfaces, SPF 50 sunscreen, a wide-brim hat, a reusable water bottle, and a light layer for air-conditioned interiors. Smart-casual is appropriate for evening dining onboard.
Most 5-star vessels offer Wi-Fi in common areas and some cabins, though connectivity along the Nile between towns can be intermittent. If consistent connectivity is essential, check with us before booking — we can confirm Wi-Fi reliability for each specific vessel.
We arrange all transfers as part of your package. The most common option is a direct flight from Cairo to Luxor (1 hour) or Cairo to Aswan (1.5 hours). Overnight sleeper train from Cairo to Luxor is available as a scenic alternative. All flights and transfers are coordinated by our team — you simply arrive.
Speak with our Egypt specialists for your perfect luxury journey.
At My Way to Egypt, we create memorable and affordable journeys that go far beyond the ordinary. From standing before the majestic Pyramids to uncovering hidden gems in Egypt’s ancient alleyways, every experience is designed to inspire.
