You’ll explore the legendary Great Pyramid, then continue toward the eternal gaze of the Great Sphinx, where myth and history seem to overlap. At the Valley Temple, your Egyptologist connects the rituals of the ancient world to the monuments around you—quiet details that make the sites feel alive, not distant.

Later, you’ll pause for lunch at a local restaurant, enjoying Egyptian flavors in a relaxed setting before visiting a Papyrus Institute, where you’ll see how traditional papyrus is made and why it mattered so much in ancient life. You arrive at Luxor Train Station and step into the brighter light of Upper Egypt. Your day begins on Luxor’s powerful West Bank, starting with the Valley of the Kings, where royal tombs tucked into the mountains still glow with color and symbolism. Next, you stand before the Colossi of Memnon—two silent giants watching over the plain—before continuing to the graceful terraces of Hatshepsut Temple, a masterpiece built against the cliffs as if it belongs there.

You’ll visit an Alabaster institute, where artisans transform stone into glowing pieces that catch the sun like honey. Then comes a moment many travelers dream about: embarkation on your Dahabiya. You check in, settle into your cabin, and feel the pace instantly change—slower, calmer, more intimate. Later, you visit Luxor Temple, where warm stone and ancient columns feel especially alive at the end of the day. You return onboard for a peaceful night on the West Bank, with the Nile close by and the sense that a timeless journey has truly begun.

Your Egyptologist guides you through towering columns and grand gateways, revealing how the site grew over centuries.

In the afternoon, the Dahabiya begins sailing (PM) toward Esna. The river sets the rhythm now—gentle breezes, palm-lined banks, and the calm pleasure of watching Egypt unfold from the deck.

Full eclipse begins at 11:42:31, with maximum at 11:45:16. Totality lasts 6 minutes, 20 seconds—brief, yet overwhelming in the moment—before full eclipse ends at 11:48:01. It’s the perfect way to let the journey sink in, surrounded by river air and timeless views.
